Assassin Snail, also known as Clea helena or Anentome helena, is a popular freshwater aquarium snail valued for its striking yellow-and-brown banded shell and its natural role in controlling pest snail populations. Unlike algae-grazing snails, this species is a carnivorous scavenger and hunter, making it a smart addition for hobbyists dealing with bladder snails, ramshorn snails, or other fast-breeding hitchhiker snails.

These snails stay relatively small, are easy to observe, and suit many peaceful freshwater aquariums when kept in stable, clean water. They spend time moving across substrate, glass, and décor, often burrowing slightly into sand or fine gravel.
